Yes there was an earthquake... for those of you not in So Cal.
I think, personally, the TV is making a much bigger deal of it than it was.
It was strong... dont get me wrong.
I was with Haley and Hunter at the Ontario Mills when the quake hit.
The big air ducts above us shook and things fell of the shelves...
I looked down at my kids thinking, "Ok, what do I do? Are they ok?"
IT was a long roll.
Hunter says... "Mom," he picks up a toy, "this fell."
My kids were NOT PHASED at all!!!!! - they get that from their dad. I would have been a mess.
For those of you in So cal... Please, tell me where were you when the quake hit? what was your experience...

My boys' art! AND updates
Jonah's art is with clothes.... He found dad's dresser and took everything out of it. I didn't care... it was keeping him occupied while I chatted on facebook :). Don't look to hard... you might see undies :).
His cute proud face :)
Oh yes... and an update on my phone and hunt's glasses...
I received my NEW BRAND NEW phone yesterday and all is up and working with the same phone number. Nice to have insurance :)
As for Hunt's glasses.... We paid 80 bucks for them... we expected to pay as much for his new pair. Yesterday we went to Sears to get a new pair and thankfully brought the broken ones. They simply replaced them with new frames... all we paid was 25 bucks!
Praise God!
I highly recommend Sears Grand by the Victoria Gardens...
Ask for Apryl.
Hunt believes she is his new friend
Oh and by the way...
Sears is having a sale right now on children's glasses... TWO pair for 100 bucks! That is good. I am thinking about getting more back ups. I have 6 more months with the pair we have now. I have a feeling he will need another pair. The offer is now til August 30th.

today has not been my favorite...
I just got back from the park. I took my friend's daughter to the park so she can clean her apartment because they are moving tomorrow. While at the park... there are these two lurker kids... no parents in sight and all they do is follow us. Jimmy calls me on my cell... I chat with him maybe five minutes and I am interrupted by one of the children... They couldnt open their fruit roll-up. So I get off with Jim and I put the cell phone on top of my purse... five minutes later... gone and so are the lurker kids...
Ok... so I drop off my friends daughter to her house... I make the call to cancel my phone.
(So friends out there... my cell is not in service right now)
We get home from the park and not even 10 minutes home and Hunter yells, "Mom, Jonah broke my glasses..." Many thoughts enter my head at the moment...1. what are the glasses doing off his face. 2. How could a baby break METAL glasses... 3. Those glasses are only months old... and cost 80 bucks... they better not be broken.
Sure enough... the METAL snapped in half... so unless I get my welding materials out, Hunter will need new glasses. I could hot glue them back together.... or make super glue?
So really... it hasnt been a bad day... just a few frustrations.... and I am venting...
Dad... Happy birthday! the BIG 40... :) and a few more years.

A good idea
Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy
machine. Hopefully they will all fit on a 8 1/2"x11" sht.
machine. Hopefully they will all fit on a 8 1/2"x11" sht.
Then flip them all over and do the other side.
You will know what you had in your wallet and all
of the account numbers and phone numbers to call and
cancel. Keep the photocopy in a safe place.
I go this idea sent to me via email... I didnt want to fwd it so I thought I would post it on my blog :)

Info on Scarlet Rose
July 8th Jenna went to the hospital having pain, the next day - July 9th, the doctors told Jenna she had a condition they call HELP (high enzymes low platelets). This condition was hurting Jenna's body and it was really only a matter of time that it would start hurting Scarlet Rose. That afternoon they decided it would be best to take Scarlet Rose via C-Section.
She came 2 months early. She weighs 3 pounds and 3 ounces... 16 inches long.

Jenna will be going home this weekend sometime.
note - this is why you always prepare yourself for the day... you never know when you might have to leave your house quickly. (and yet I am still posting myself on my blog)
Jenna wanted me to share with people that she is doing good but at this time would rather not have visitors.
Honestly... both girls look fantastic :) Scarlet is little but looks amazing. She is beautiful!

SCARLET ROSE IS HERE
My sister-n-law, Jenna and Jim's brother, Len - just gave birth to their first child! Scarlet Rose was born yesterday at 230pm. She is 2 months early and weighs 3 lbs and 3 oz. She is doing well for being so early. Jenna was having complications that were affecting her body and the doctors feared it would eventually harm Scarlet so they took her emergency c-section. The doctors say that she could be in the NICU for as long as 2 months.
If you have a moment and want to lift their family of three up in prayer, please do! I can't imagine what it would be like leaving the hospital without your child.
I don't have pictures of Scarlet yet... I have us in the waiting room.... but my computer is being a big boogar and not letting me even upload those...

MY LONG DAY
Today I took Haley and Hunter to the dentist. Hunter - for his first cleaning. Haley - to get her molers sealed. On the way there... the kids sang their made up songs about how they love the dentist.... cute!
We get there and Haley gets to go first. They sit her in the chair and prep her for the sealant. it is simply brushing something on her adult teeth to prevent cavities. THAT IS IT DUDE! Well, the stuff they put on her tooth is contained in a little container that looks JUST LIKE a shot. So she FREAKS OUT.... eventually she elbows the dentist in the face WHILE screaming! Mind you... NONE OF THIS HURT! She was scared, and I felt for her... but it was frustrating.

After she hit the doctor, the doctor decided it wasnt worth it.
To Haley's defense, the doctor pointed out that she is REALLY young to have such adult teeth already. AND she just had her allergy test.... so she has had a pretty emotional, health month :).

Hunter, on the other hand, simply LOVED his teeth cleaning! He was a little restless so I asked if we could have an apron (the kind they put on you for x-rays) to lay over him.... he simply laid there still as could be. The dentist was pretty impressed at how well that works for him that they said they are going to try that with other kids.
The drive home was NOT as sing-song as it was going. Haley was in tears, over what? I dont know. She was crying over the seatbelt, then about her hair, then about how long the drive was.... (Side note... she just came back from spending the night at a friends so I am thinking she didnt get the best of sleep). Hunter then started to fuss over his seat belt... We are driving in our corolla (to save on gas) and so the quarters are very small and their whining was SO GETTING ON MY NERVES.
We are on our way to pick up Joe from my mom when Haley finally says, "Mama, can we stay at Nana's and can you leave?" Awesome... I am not wanted... but you know at this point I think I would have GLADLY taken a mental hour to recoup.
As we are discussing this I come to a stop sign (turning right onto church from Hellman) and did the famous, California Roll. Guess who was hiding? Mr Copman. Yep... I get pulled over. Nice right?
Now the dramatic Haley is crying, telling Hunter, "Mama is going to jail and they are going to take our parents away and give us new ones.... I dont want new parents" so now she wants me :)
Hunter didn't seem to care.
hmmmm
Anyways... yes I got my first ticket. What was my reaction? I laughed. I know... I am not normal, but it seemed so fitting for the type of day I was having. I have NO IDEA how much this ticket is going to cost me or even how we are going to pay for it....
Side note... the Cop dude was a nice man... all business but very nice. He would have been nicer to give me a warning, but overall nice.
The drama is still going on as we speak. Currently she is upset with me because she claims I was the reason she didnt get her teeth done today.... why she is crying STILL over something that DIDNT hurt and really doesnt matter? I DONT KNOW! All I do know is she is going to bed SOON!

Haley got glasses
Haley came to me a few weeks ago wanting glasses... Finally after bugging me about it every day since, I dug out an old pair of mine (REALLY OLD) and popped out the lenses and gave her a pair. SHE LOVES THEM... She will wear them all day long (if we are home) she wont wear them out to church or anything... Isnt she cute??
Flipside's Golf Tournament
YES, I have done a LOT in the past week.... VBS, and the Golf Tournament and swim lessons AND AND AND.... I helped my dad with the putting contest at the Golf Tournament. My cousin, Prestin, me, my uncle steve and my dad all helped "run" a hole. It was fun! It was also a BEAUTIFUL day to golf.... (not that I golf).
WWF
Jasen
Last week was our church's version of VBS - called, Wacky Week of Fun (WWF) and Jasen came to help us stack and roll pennies... (the kids were raising money to build a well in Africa)
Joe with his girl friends
Jonah and Chloe are days apart... I was watching Chloe one day last week (while my older two were at VBS) and it felt like I had twins.... they are both at the same development stage, both want EVERYTHING in their mouths... It was cute, at one point they held hands :)
