Our "White" Weekend

Starting on Thursday night, we met up with some friends at Down Town Upland Market place thing... I think that is what it is called. We walked around, ate dinner, hung out... it was fun. I hadn't been there since high school which is only two years ago :)... The pictures from the market place are the two of Haley and her best buddy Logan holding hands. The two of them just adore each other. It was like they were on their first date. They held hands for most of our walk! Cute huh?

Saturday morning Jim decided to paint the ceiling in our kitchen. A week ago a good friend, Sam, took down this disgusting looking light fixture down in our kitchen and put up recess lighting up. We love it. All we had to do was paint over where the light fixture was. Easy right? Jim used the same paint the painters who painted our house when we moved in used. When he was done with the first coat and last coat :), I hear this faint call for my name. I come into the kitchen to see this... (The picture) it was oil based paint and wouldn't come off.... it was pretty funny... he couldn't use his hands. Anything he touched he turned white and sticky. Lesson learned here... DO NOT use oil based paint, AND gasoline will take off oil based paint, NOT WATER...

And to our final picture...
last night, kids are in bed (so we thought) and Jim and I were up just chilling in our den watching TV. We hear Hunter’s little voice and we turn around to see him covered in baby powder. He hadn't been sleeping at all... He was playing with baby powder all over his floor.

How we spend our "at Home" time...

Being a stay at home mom is great. The kids and I love to do crafts. Hunter is still getting the idea that the sticky foam punch outs are suppose to go on paper not his belly (See picture). Haley and Grace love craft time and make very inventive things... I don't know what else to call some of their art... It is great to see their minds moving and in action.

Today we went to Jumping Jacks. JJ is a big warehouse where they have all these blow up jumping things for kids to just go crazy on. Like big bounce houses. During the school year it is MUCH more enjoyable to be there because there aren't so many BIG kids there running the little kids over. Today was ok. Haley loves it there and today asked to come home after an hour of being there (which isn't like her). See the picture where Haley is up in the air? Hunter has no fear and can careless who is around him (except he does want mom). When bigger kids are around and get in his way, you would think he would back down, oh no... he is staying his ground. Such a boy!

Anyways.. I can't wait for these big ol' kids to go back to school so we can have the place to ourselves (and other little ones are ok). I am such a teacher at heart... I had no problem telling these bigger kids that they weren't following the rules, and to watch out for the little ones :)...

On the drive home, Hunter, who is in love with stuffies... had to have them all around him. Rabbit, Kanga, Lamb (which is laying on Hunter's side) and Warry (Larry).

Time for Tea

This past Friday, Linda (Jenna's mom) invited Haley and I over to her house for a formal Tea Party. Haley got to taste all sorts of new foods; lemon bars, cucumber sandwiches, and more. She really liked the cucumber sandwiches. She learned how to sit at the table in a dress :) and when to begin eating (after the hostess takes the first bite). She had a lot of fun. So much fun, she didn't want to leave.

Thank you Linda for having us over and for the tea pot. As you can see, we have already had a small mini tea party with our friend Grace across the street (The last picture).

Hanging with Friends

Today we took a trip to Riverside to meet up with Jessica and her kids, friends of ours from The Flipside. Jane and her son, Nate, drove with us. Nate is 6 months younger than Hunter. We went to the Riverside Museum (I think that is what it was called) and the kids got to run around outside the Mission Inn while we ate lunch and just enjoyed each others company. It was a nice break from being cooped up inside! The kids loved to just get out and RUN! Or in Hunter's case, get out and Jump.

In the picture where they are by the water... Haley and Hunter were holding hands. They love each other ... it is really sweet.

The group picture is suppose to be of the kids, but my children (mostly Huntman) were not being very cooperative, so I got to smile and be in the kiddy picture.... aren't I a kid anyways...

The next picture is of Jane, Jessica and Me.... the mommies!

And finally, the ride home. Nate and Hunt feel asleep. Cute kids huh?

It is so much fun to be staying home with my kids now and being able to go out with them during the weekday.

Thanks Jessica for inviting us down!

My 8 year Return

Jim decided to take a day off from work to go to Magic Mountain with Me, Jenna and his brother Len. I have not been there in over 8 years! WOW... it really has changed. Not only have there been MANY rides added to the park, the park has also gone a bit down hill in the appearance. Liter everywhere, line cutters, interesting people... nothing like our beloved Disneyland :). Jenna, who isn't a huge rollercoaster fan, was a great sport and went on quite a few rides!

The middle picture is sideways :) oops... but it is of the Riddlers Revenge. Very fun!!! Our favorite ride (If I can talk for all of us) was Goliath which went 85mph. It has a drop in the beginning that makes you feel that you have lost your stomach FOREVER! It is SOOO long! GREAT FUN!!!

(Thanks mom for watching the kids so Jim and I could go play)

My Summer Reading

This Summer I have done a lot of reading. My first book I read this summer was The Case For Faith, by Lee Strobel. A get non-fiction! It really gave me a lot of insight into the Christian faith! Not an easy read, there definitely was words in there I didn't know :)... Shocker!

Next I went on the read Leota's Garden, by F. Rivers (one of my favorite authors, I just can't spell her first name and am too lazy to get up). I liked it. It is about a family that has been torn and broken and are not close. Leota is the grandmother of her daughters daughter who wants to understand her family and why they all are the way they are. Make since? Easy Read!

Last year I read the Da Vinci Code and had really enjoyed Dan Brown's style of writing. SO I picked up his 700 page novel, Deception Point and read it in less than a week. Though I may disagree with some of Dan Brown's views, I love his thrillers! I couldn't put this book down! It is about NASA and presidential stuff.... You have to read it... Easy read!

Currently I am reading two books; Digital Fortress, by Dan Brown, and The Case for Christ, by Lee Strobel.

Digital Fortress is about people who break codes (math) I like it a lot. This is one of his first books that I have read that I haven't disagreed with some of Dan Brown's "ideas".... Easy Read...
The Case For Christ is great. I love learning more about my own religion and studying facts about Christ. Not so easy read,.... but I find it very stimulating and fascinating!

I definitely recommend all of these books!

Old School Toys

I think it is so funny how the toys that were in when I was a little one are in now for my daughter. Strawberry Short Cake, My Little Pony's (as shown in the picture with Haley), Care Bears, Cabbage Patch Kids... Haley is in a big My Little Pony stage. She just got a new pony for cleaning her room all by herself for the first time. She had wanted it and had been asking for it, and then tonight asked Jim, "Well, could I earn the pony?" How can you say no to that! :) Hunter got match box cars (as seen in the picture) for helping dad clean his room. (I really think Jim did most of the work :))

The other Hunter picture is of him with his favorite toys on the planet - animals... He loves animals and will walk around with five at a time just carrying them. He does play with them too. He is quite cute to watch!

The final picture is the current drawing Haley did yesterday.

My Artistic Daughter

Haley just drew this five minutes ago. Incase you cant read what I wrote on the paper... She drew a picture of Deanne (pregnant with Sophia), Me (pregnant with Haley), Mindi (Pregnant with kaylee) and Nana (Pregnant with Uncle Scoby). I thought this was way too cute!

Haley is sweet. Her heart is just so innocent and kind. She loves to make cards for people, and send them in the mail (which this is so often that we draw on our own stamps... they really don't go in the mail all the time). When she hears that someone is sick, she wants to make them something, or give them something to make them "smile". If I am laying on the couch not feeling well... she brings me her favorite blanket, her favorite doll, and caresses my cheek asking me if this helps me to feel better.

The picture with the three people holding hands is her and her friends playing ring around the rosies... Under the rainbow and sun. At this time in drawing people (A month ago) she didn't focus to much on bodies. The line across their forehead is their eyebrows :).

This is a picture she drew yesterday of a really big flower which sometimes is an animal. :) She has an imagination.

This picture is on my mother's day card she gave me. She can write her name (on the card it isn't her best). It is her flying a kite. (The word kite was written by Jim)

This is a picture of Haley with our newest dog, Lucy. She likes to treat her as if she is her very own toy. The dog, of course, doesn't like it! But it made for a cute picture :).
